Why did you choose JMU?

I was living in Charlottesville and looking for an MBA program that offered a brick and mortar experience, but one that was also affordable, yet from a respected educational institution. JMU offered all of these and ended up being a perfect fit for my needs.

How did your degree from JMU lead you to where you are today?

I had been working in intelligence since my Army days and wanted to continue in that industry. However, I gravitated toward the business operations aspects of the company, vice those which were customer-facing. The JMU MBA prepared me for managerial and executive positions in a large defense contractor, a federal civilian position, and ultimately a role as an owner and executive in a bootstrapped startup which my partners and I have continued to grow for the better part of a decade.

What does working for the Federal Government community mean to you?

I have supported the Federal Government for the entirety of my professional career in one form or another. I have believed in the Government missions that I’ve supported and wish to continue supporting them. My roles have changed in response to my own personal and professional growth, but the missions have remained constant.
